An aerial view of San Diego downtown and Coronado bridge. I was flying from San Diego to New York, to attend a multimedia workshop at IBM research. |

Grand Canyon, still further up north. But this image provides a glimpse of the formation of a canyon. The water you see is actually controlled by a dam near bottom left part of the river. |

An attempt to create a graphic art from a natural scene. |

One of my to-dos for NYC was to capture its vibe. New York indeed has a lively vibe running throughout. Especially after living in San Diego for three years, living the laid back informal graduate students life, NYC was a striking contrast. My first view of the city was of its famed subways. At first I was scared to take out the camera, but then capturing moments became more important. I was surprised as no one took notice of me and the camera, while I was shooting. I was intruding their privacy, but they did not seem to care. |

Such is life in New York. Bustling grand central station. |
|
Surrounded by crowd, you are still alone. Pervasive randomness everywhere, but you still manage to find your direction. |
|
There is another life in NY subways. Most prominent aspect being the musical shows. I was also told that there is a competition to perform at major Subway locations. |
|
Although sun sets even in New York, night never falls. There are people all around. All the time. Everywhere. |
|
At Times Square. Literally dumbfounded. |

Being more of a nature person, I really did not expect to enjoy NY so much. |
